People Who Deserve It

Those of you that know me know that I love nothing more than punching people in the face. Ok...not really, but I would LIKE to punch people in the face. Obnoxious people. Rude people. People Who Deserve It.

Which brings me to a wonderful new site I've recently come across...www.peoplewhodeserveit.com.

It's a site dedicated to people who should be punched in the face. Some are funny, some are sad, but all are true. Check it out.

Not As Impressed

While I think that Dr. Pepper's original intention to live up to their word was nice their website was hammered during the time allotted to download the coupon for a free soda and I couldn't get one.

Very upsetting. Free Dr. Pepper is good. Better than regular old "paid for it" Dr. Pepper.

I'm Impressed

I like Dr. Pepper. I think it's great all on its own, but the company has climbed a rung on the respect ladder.

Earlier this year the company that makes Dr. Pepper stated that they would "give a free soda to everyone in America" if the Guns N Roses record "Chinese Democracy" was ever released. I loved the original story because someone (other than me) thought, and hoped, that Axl would never get this album out to the masses. Well he did and Dr. Pepper is standing by it's word.

Starting on Sunday November 23rd at 12:01am Dr. Pepper will offer a coupon for one free soda on it's website. The offer will last for 24 hours.

While I'm not at all excited that someone is letting Guns N Roses release another record, I am quite impressed that the fine people who make Dr. Pepper, after having lost a bet they initiated, are standing up to their word.

Dr. Pepper stands by their word.

My First Gig

My first gig with my new band, Junk, went pretty well. I didn't play as well as I would have liked, but it is what it is right?

Oh and I made fun of Art Alexakis from Everclear on mic. He came over to say "hello" in the middle of our second set. Super nice guy.

Title Please

I ran across this video recently and childhood memories came flooding back to me. I used to watch this "movie" or "show" or whatever it is when I was a kid and then completely forgot about it. I would love to find a copy, but have no clue what the name of it is. Anybody know?

Back in the Saddle Again

This Saturday October 25th will be my first gig with a regular band in over four years. I'm playing with Junk, a jazz-funk fusion outfit from Hagerstown, Maryland.

If you're in the area we're playing at Duffy's in Hagerstown. Stop by and say "Hey!".

Scouts

My 10 year old son is in Cub Scouts and I am his den leader. I never thought I would do that as I don't see eye to eye on ALL of the Scouting ideals, but when no other parent will step up and you see your child enjoying it you do what you have to do.

That being said, during my daily surfing of the intertubes I came across this picture.

Yes it is two young scouts in black face. Me head almost exploded. I don't even want to know WHY they are in black face. While I'm not a fan of the Scouts stand on a few political issues, it's nice to know that we've at least moved past THIS.

Where Are Your Riots Now?

I mean...he probably didn't do this either right?

Seriously?

Can it really be true that the US Congress thought that since the 700 billion dollar bailout wasn't going to work that the 810 billion dollar bailout would? It's getting to the point where I can no longer afford to be an American.

If you want to pay off your greedy, asshole bankers on wall street that's fine. I just don't want it to be with my money. Unfortunately I have no say in the matter. We the people my ass.

Welcome to the United Socialist States of America. Nothing you say, think or want matters.

A Virgins Plea

I don't usually put links to sites where people are ASKING for hits on the pages, but I think this one is a little different. It's a 25 year old Polish virgin who as a deal with his friend. If he can get 5 million hits in 30 days she'll have sex with him. If he doesn't he's her personal slave for a week. It's funny. It's silly. Some poor guy is trying to get laid. Let's help him out!

Who Didn't See This Coming

Phish is getting back together...again...really.

Here's the story

I'm actually a fan of Phish. I just think it's funny.

Larry

A few months ago I watched Jeffrey Ross' Comedy Central special. While I think he's funny, Larry stole the show. Jeffrey asked for someone to come up from the audience to play piano while he read poetry. This is what happened.

Kung Fu Robots

This movie was huge when I was a kid. I recently watched it again, and while it's no where near as great as I thought it was when I was nine, you can't really argue with Kung Fu Robots.

Why is it...

Why is it that when I walk up an escalator I get no where near as winded as I do when I walk up a flight of stairs. I understand that I'm moving up the incline faster on the escalator so I'm not exerting as much energy. I'm talking about walking up an escalator that's twice as long as a flight of stairs. I don't get it.

It's not important. I just started thinking about it as I almost fooled myself into thinking I was getting in better shape.

Things I Don't Care About Today

  • The new OJ Simpson trial ( or the old one for that matter )
  • Sarah Palin or any of her children
  • John McCain or any of his wives or houses
  • Barack Obama or what he's going to "change"
  • Any reason for bailing out a multi-billion corporation by the US government
  • Explanations for why gas prices go up at the pump when they go down on Wall St.

It's going to be an interesting day

I woke up with this song stuck in my head.

I'm Disgusted

CNN.com has an article on the front page covering the bailout of Fannie May and Freddie Mac. This is the first line:
"Mortgage applicants rejoice!"
Rejoice!?!?!?! Two giant companies can't keep their shit together, causing hundreds of thousands of foreclosures (I'm the victim of three) and we're supposed to rejoice? We, the American tax payers, are going to fund the bailout of bastards who were so greedy they ran their companies into the ground and we're supposed to rejoice? Fuck you.

I'll rejoice when the people running this nation actually think about the people they represent before their wallets. I'll rejoice when we're more worried about unfed, uneducated, abused children in this country than how many homes John McCain has. I'll rejoice when I know the quality of my children's education is no longer based on my annual income.

I'm really starting to believe that the human race is the scourge of this planet. Everything was fine until we got here.

My Views

I love the views out of my apartment. Someone suggested that I take pictures of the views if I like them so much so...I did.

The day was perfect. The clouds looked like they're painted on a canvas. This is the view when I open my front door.
This is the view to the left when hanging out my front window...

...and this is the view to the right.

I know this doesn't mean much of anything to anyone else, but I like it.

A Bothersome Truth

When I saw the image below for the first time I thought it was very clever. It's a Mexican political cartoon. However, the more I look at it, the more I have to ask "Is this really how the rest of the world sees us?".

I'm afraid that for the most part the answer is yes, which is very disturbing. None of the people I know feel like they are better than anyone else just because they're an American. None of the people I know want to make the world a better place by getting rid of people whom are different than they are. None of the people I know feel a kinship to the Nazi regime of the 1940s.

That being said, people around the world are viewing us like this because of the actions of a few people in office. There are 300 million people in the United States and a small percentage of those people are fucking it up for the rest of us.

I guess I don't have a point here other than it really makes me angry that I'm lumped in with the assholes in Washington DC, just because of the country I live in. I don't hate anyone in another country just because they're from another country. I just want everyone to leave everyone else alone. Let people do what they want unless they're hurting someone else. If we would all follow that simple rule everything would be fine.

Or maybe not. Humans fuck everything up. I'm sure we would fuck that up too.

Why?

Why is it that so many people think it's OK to basically shower in the restroom at work. I can walk into the bathroom on almost any given day and find people washing their faces, brushing their teeth or any other number of personal things that should be done at home. For fuck's sake I saw a guy at work BLOWING HIS NOSE into the sink! I can understand wanting to take care of your teeth, but forcing me to listen to you blow snot out of your head and into the sink where I'm going to wash my hands is just a little too much.

Man, people piss me off.
